Prosecutors have indicted Bi Baowen, a former vice governor of Heilongjiang province and its police chief, on charges of taking bribes and using his influence to solicit bribes, China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate said Friday. Bi, 66, will stand trial at the Intermediate People’s Court in Shenyang, Liaoning province. The case was investigated by the National Supervisory Commission, China’s top anti-corruption agency, before being transferred to prosecutors. He is also accused of using his influence after retirement to continue seeking benefits for others in exchange for money and valuables. Bi was placed under investigation in November 2025 and expelled from the Communist Party of China in May 2026.
