U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced their largest single-day inflows since May 1 on August 20, attracting $606.29 million. This marks the fourth consecutive day of positive net assets for these funds, with BlackRock's IBIT fund being the primary driver, accounting for approximately 83% of the day's total inflows.
BlackRock's IBIT alone brought in $502.99 million, a significant increase from its 55% share the previous day. Other Bitcoin ETFs also saw positive flows, including Fidelity's FBTC ($64.74 million), Bitwise's BITB ($26.4 million), and Ark and 21Shares' ARKB ($12.2 million). However, VanEck's HODL fund experienced an outflow of $3.59 million.
Across the four-day inflow streak, IBIT has accumulated about $1.09 billion of the total $1.61 billion. August has now recorded $2.07 billion in inflows, making it the best month for Bitcoin ETFs in 2026, surpassing April's $1.97 billion with seven trading sessions remaining.
Inflows were not limited to Bitcoin. Ethereum ETFs added $221 million, their largest intake since October 2025, and XRP and Solana funds also saw substantial increases. Every listed crypto asset fund drew money on August 20.
Bitcoin's price has surged approximately 24% since Monday, trading around $77,000 on Friday, though still below its all-time high. The chart shows Bitcoin above its 200-day moving average but still awaiting a golden cross. Ethereum and XRP also saw significant weekly gains.
Meanwhile, Hashdex announced the liquidation of its DEFI Bitcoin ETF, the first U.S. spot Bitcoin fund to be liquidated, with its final trading day on August 17.
