Ben Gvir to release children’s book glorifying his ‘achievements’

Israel's far-right Jewish Power party is set to release a children's book titled "The Minister Who Didn’t Stop," which aims to celebrate the "activities and achievements" of its leader, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. The party plans to distribute the book to students outside educational institutions, targeting young Israelis, a demographic showing increasing support for Ben Gvir and the far-right.

The book, written in language adapted for children, will be launched on September 1 at the party's conference in Netanya, coinciding with the start of the Israeli school year. Ben Gvir's office stated they are proud to share the story of his "tremendous achievements" during his four years as minister.

Recent years have seen a sharp rise in support for Ben Gvir among young Jewish Israelis, with research indicating a significant portion identify as right-wing. However, Ben Gvir's tenure has also been marked by international isolation, with at least 10 countries barring his entry and a Schengen listing restricting his travel to Europe. His political stances and past convictions, including incitement to racism and supporting a terrorist organization, have drawn criticism. Human rights groups have also raised concerns about policies he has introduced in Israeli prisons, which they allege amount to torture and starvation of Palestinian prisoners.
