Australia's Ampol reported a significant increase in its third-quarter refining margins at the Lytton refinery, driven by supply disruptions in the Middle East. The refining margin more than doubled to $23.92 per barrel, up from $10.64 per barrel in the same period last year. Despite the improved margins, Ampol anticipates a reduction in its output of higher-value products like gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel by 150 million liters in the fourth quarter due to additional maintenance work identified during an inspection of the Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit. Total group sales volume for the third quarter rose to 6,245 million liters, an increase from 6,028 million liters a year earlier.
