Ruth Reffkin launches NYC real estate team with Compass

Ruth Reffkin, mother of Compass International Holdings CEO Robert Reffkin, has launched her own real estate team, the Ruth Reffkin Team, brokered by Compass. The announcement was made just days before her 81st birthday.

Reffkin is launching the team with Susan Hirschorn, who will serve as the team's principal strategist. In an email to other Compass agents, Reffkin and Hirschorn stated their goal is to offer expanded support, broader reach, and highly personal service to clients navigating important transitions. They also highlighted the benefit of Compass's national and international network.

Reffkin, who has over 27 years in the real estate industry, shared that this is the first team she has ever led, attributing her previous hesitation to fear and imposter syndrome. She expressed newfound confidence due to her business partner and the support of the Compass Home Platform for backend operations.

Currently, the team consists of Reffkin and Hirschorn, with the possibility of future expansion. Reffkin, a former leader of Compass Plus, a division serving senior clients, aims to leverage her existing relationships within Compass. The team will initially focus on serving clients in New York City.
