Ukraine conducted a long-range strike on the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refinery complex in Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The General Staff confirmed the overnight attack on August 13, noting that the refinery is one of Russia's largest and produces various oil products and polymers, while also providing support to the Russian occupation army.
In addition to the refinery, a Wildberries warehouse and distribution facility in the Chishminsky district of Bashkortostan was also hit. This follows previous Ukrainian strikes on Wildberries logistics centers in Yekaterinburg and Tula Oblast, with the company listing military equipment, including drone components, on its website.
Separately, on August 12, Ukraine reported a significant success with an attack on the Black Sea Fleet naval base in Novorossiysk, damaging four Russian warships, including two frigates, a small missile ship, and a patrol ship. The full extent of the damage to the vessels is still being clarified.
