The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on June 10, 2026, that Russia has sustained approximately 1,377,510 troop losses since the commencement of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. This figure includes 1,190 casualties reported for the preceding day.
In addition to personnel losses, the report detailed significant equipment attrition for Russian forces, including 12,004 tanks, 24,717 armored combat vehicles, 105,172 vehicles and fuel tanks, 43,713 artillery systems, 1,857 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,414 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 340,531 drones, 1,619 unmanned ground vehicles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.
Ukraine's General Staff has maintained operational secrecy regarding its own losses during the conflict. However, independent Western think-tank analyses, such as a January 2026 report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), suggest that Russian casualties substantially exceed those of Ukraine. CSIS estimated the casualty ratio to be "roughly 2.5:1 or 2:1," with Ukraine likely suffering between 500,000 and 600,000 casualties from February 2022 to December 2025, including an estimated 100,000 to 140,000 killed in action.
