In Odesa Oblast, two foreign civilian vessels flying the flags of Panama and St. Kitts and Nevis were hit by Russian drones on the evening of June 18. One vessel reported one crew member killed and two injured, while the other sustained three injured crew members. Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba denounced the attacks as a threat to freedom of navigation, international trade, and global food security.
Overnight, Russian drones struck a truck parking area in Odesa Oblast, igniting a fire that engulfed empty fuel and gas tankers. This incident resulted in one death and four injuries. Ukraine's Air Force stated that Russia launched 90 Shahed-type attack drones, of which 79 were intercepted, while nine struck targets across eight locations, with debris falling at eight other sites.
Other regions also experienced deadly attacks. In Sumy Oblast, approximately 40 attacks on 23 settlements using various weapons, including mortars and drones, led to the deaths of a 78-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, with four others injured. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast saw some of the day's highest casualties, with three people killed, including an 8-year-old girl in Pavlohrad, and 18 injured from artillery, missile, and drone attacks across three districts. Kherson Oblast reported one death and nine injuries from Russian attacks, including drone strikes on a bus and pedestrians. In Kharkiv Oblast, one person was killed and 15 others injured, including four children, with civilian infrastructure damaged. Donetsk Oblast recorded two deaths and four injuries from 33 attacks across the region. Zaporizhzhia Oblast reported four injuries from strikes on the regional center and surrounding areas, with approximately 950 strikes targeting 53 settlements.
