Russian investigators announced on Wednesday the arrest of at least two suspects, identified as teenagers, in connection with a car bombing that occurred in Moscow. The domestic security service claims the teenagers were convinced to plant the explosive device.
Two car bombs were reported in Moscow on Tuesday. One detonated in the morning in the eastern part of the city, resulting in the death of the driver, according to Kommersant newspaper. The identity of the victim has not been released.
A second device was identified by security services in southwestern Moscow. The Russia's state Investigative Committee stated that a criminal case has been opened concerning this bomb, which was reportedly aimed at an employee of a scientific production enterprise. The committee detailed that a teenage girl was instructed by unidentified individuals to collect the bomb and hand it to a teenage boy, who then placed it on the targeted car along with a GPS tracker. No casualties were reported from this incident, and the suspects have been charged.
