Former President Barack Obama expressed doubt that any future U.S. agreement with Iran would be substantially different from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) negotiated during his administration. In an interview with ABC News's Robin Roberts, Obama stated, “It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going to be significantly different, or in a significant improvement from the deal that we had in the first place, and had worked for a long stretch of time before we, the United States, pulled out of it.” He added that he was hopeful the bombing would cease and that ordinary people would no longer suffer.
