At least 29 people were killed in a new wave of Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon and the eastern Beqaa Valley, occurring just one day after a ceasefire was announced. Lebanon's civil defence agency reported that a series of Israeli attacks on the Nabatieh district killed 16 people and wounded 12 others. An Israeli strike on the village of Barish in Tyre killed four members of the same family, which Lebanon's National News Agency described as a "massacre". The NNA also reported at least seven people were killed and 13 injured in an Israeli attack near Sidon. Another person was killed in Shahour in the Tyre district, and one person in Sohmor in the western Bekaa Valley. The Lebanese army stated one of its officers was killed in an Israeli air strike on the Kfar Rumman-Nabatieh road.
Hezbollah stated its fighters confronted Israeli forces overnight as they attempted to infiltrate strategic hills overlooking Nabatieh, and that the group has the "full right" to respond to Israeli attacks. Hassan Fadlallah, a Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese parliament member, said any ceasefire would be "meaningless" while Israel continued to occupy Lebanese territory.
The attacks occurred as the US and Iran sought to implement a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending hostilities. US President Donald Trump criticized the Israeli strikes as disproportionate.
