Mexico striker Raul Jimenez has secured his club future by signing for a second spell with English team Wolverhampton, the club announced Wednesday. The deal is an initial two-year contract, with Jimenez joining from Fulham after his contract there expired.
Wolves will play in the second-tier Championship next season, having been relegated from the Premier League. Jimenez previously played for Wolves from 2018 to 2023, scoring 57 goals in 166 appearances after joining from Benfica.
Wolves executive chairman Nathan Shi described the signing as a "truly special moment" for the club. Matt Jackson, commenting on the move, believes Jimenez's return sends a strong message about the club's ambition to be promoted back to the Premier League. Jackson highlighted Jimenez's proven quality, leadership, and professionalism as vital for the upcoming challenging Championship season.
Jimenez is set to play for Mexico in the upcoming World Cup, with the team's opening match against South Africa scheduled for Thursday.
