PwC UK chief Marco Amitrano appointed to expanded global role

The move is intended to streamline back-office operations and facilitate the rollout of new services, such as AI-driven consulting, to clients across its global network. The UK and US member firms are PwC's largest global businesses and are at the forefront of investment in new technologies like AI, which benefit the entire network.

Amitrano, who has been with PwC for 34 years and a partner since 2005, will continue to lead operations in the UK and Middle East while dedicating more time to continental Europe. Marc Billeb, a senior partner from PwC's German firm, will also join the expanded team, though his start date is not July 1.

This organizational change follows PwC's broader initiative in April to unify its global services, driven by the transformative impact of AI on the professional services sector. The firm has been developing a blueprint to standardize its consultancy offerings worldwide. The Big Four, including PwC, have recently implemented significant role reductions, with PwC cutting 123 partner roles in March of the previous year, more than double the average since 2002. In September 2025, PwC reported a profit increase of 0.4% to £6.35 billion in revenue, coinciding with the effects of these redundancies.
