Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty about ongoing efforts to end the US-Israel war on Iran. Both expressed hope for a constructive outcome in the US-Iran engagement, with Pakistan acting as a mediator.

The ongoing diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran, mediated by Pakistan and Switzerland, could lead to a significant de-escalation of regional conflicts, impacting global stability and energy markets. Simultaneously, continued military actions in Gaza and Lebanon highlight the persistent risks and potential for further escalation.
Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, to discuss ongoing efforts to end the US-Israel war on Iran and engagement between the United States and Iran. The Pakistani ministry expressed hope for an early and constructive outcome.
This discussion followed a call Dar had with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis. Switzerland has offered to host the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tehran and Washington should the parties agree.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that an MoU with the United States to end the war is closer than ever, urging an end to media speculation pending finalization. US President Donald Trump reposted Araghchi's statement, after earlier criticizing alleged leaks about the deal as "fake news."
In Gaza, a Palestinian municipality worker was killed and two injured in an Israeli drone attack in the Bureij camp. The White House indicated that the US-Iran deal is close to imminent, though details remain undisclosed.
In Lebanon, renewed Israeli military activity included air attacks on towns in Tyre and Nabatieh. The Israeli military issued wide-ranging forced displacement orders for over 20 locations in the Nabatieh and Jezzine districts, instructing residents to leave immediately. Lebanese MP Gebran Bassil commented that Hezbollah's mistakes do not justify siding with Israel, emphasizing that Israel is waging war on Lebanon. Iran's Foreign Minister also stated that the Strait of Hormuz would not return to its pre-war state and that conditions for an agreement include the removal of the US-imposed naval blockade and a ceasefire across the region, including Lebanon.
Separately, Iranian authorities seized the assets of 100 individuals accused of treachery in Isfahan province. Israel's air force also reported intercepting a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanese territory.
