After Cody Bellinger singled to start the ninth against Blue Jays closer Louis Varland, Goldschmidt hit a 400-foot drive to left field for his ninth home run of the season. Varland (3-2) had previously allowed only two earned runs this season and had not surrendered a home run in 36 2/3 innings.
