JPMorgan analysts anticipate a strong second quarter for investment banks' trading income, driven by significant IPO issuance and market volatility. The firm specifically highlighted the potential upside from SpaceX's upcoming mega IPO, code-named Project Apex. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are expected to be major beneficiaries, having each been allocated $15 billion in SpaceX IPO shares. The total fee pool for the IPO is estimated at around $500 million, with the two lead banks set to receive approximately $100 million each, representing 40% of the total.
SpaceX has engaged 21 banks to manage its initial public offering process.
