Wyatt-Hodge and Amy Jones, who was promoted to open, established a 135-run partnership, England's best opening stand in T20 World Cup history. Jones contributed 53 off 38 balls before being dismissed. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, returning from injury, added a quickfire 46 not out off 22 balls, surpassing Charlotte Edwards to become England's leading run-scorer in T20 World Cups. Sciver-Brunt gave Wyatt-Hodge the final deliveries, allowing her to reach her century and finish on 105 not out from 62 balls.
In response, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 132. Left-arm pacer Freya Kemp was the pick of the bowlers, taking a career-best 4-21, including three wickets in a single over.
