While reservoirs have not been as severely affected as vegetation, thanks to a wet winter, their levels are lower than typical for this time of year. Reservoir storage in England is currently at 75%, below the long-term average of 83%. Despite this, reservoirs are not the primary reason for recent hosepipe bans and drought declarations, which are ultimately triggered by a lack of rain.
