Canadian National Railway (CN) has established a new record for grain transportation, moving over 33.8 million metric tonnes during the 2025-26 crop year. This achievement surpasses its previous record of 31.2 million metric tonnes from the 2024-25 crop year. The company also set a new monthly record in July, transporting 2.62 million metric tonnes of grain, exceeding the prior July record from 2020. These successes are attributed to robust customer demand, effective collaboration within the grain supply chain, and CN's operational strategy. Concurrently, CPKC also reported a record grain movement of 30.66 million metric tons for the 2025-26 crop year, surpassing its own previous record. CN is preparing for the upcoming harvest with its newly released 2026-27 Grain Plan, aiming to ensure reliable service for producers and partners.
