China State Railway Group is significantly increasing shipments of air conditioners to the continent. The rail transport offers a substantial time advantage, reducing travel duration to approximately 15 to 25 days, a stark contrast to the 40 days required for sea freight. This efficiency is crucial for delivering products during Europe's peak summer season.

Midea Group, a prominent Chinese home appliance manufacturer, is responding to the heightened demand by ramping up production, with workers putting in overtime. The company's portable split air conditioners, particularly the PortaSplit model, are being highlighted for their technological innovations that address common European consumer concerns regarding bulkiness, noise, installation costs, and long installation periods.

According to Midea, the PortaSplit was developed based on extensive research into European consumers' needs, usage habits, and local architectural characteristics, specifically to mitigate the challenges posed by frequent heat waves. Once the units arrive at overseas ports, local Midea subsidiaries will manage customs clearance and distribution to retail channels to ensure timely availability.
