The University of San Francisco announced on Wednesday the appointment of Brent Blaylock as its new director of athletics. Blaylock, who begins his role immediately, brings more than two decades of experience in both professional and collegiate sports.
Prior to joining the University of San Francisco, Blaylock served as the executive deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at Oregon State starting in 2024. Before his time at Oregon State, he held various administrative positions at the University of Arizona from 2017 to 2024, including senior associate director of athletics for administration and institutional control.
In a statement, Blaylock expressed his honor in leading the University of San Francisco Athletics Department during a significant period for college sports. He thanked President Salvador Aceves and the Board for their confidence and commitment to student-athletes, and stated his intention to build upon the university's culture of excellence and support its athletes and coaches.
