Seventeen people were injured when a wagon of a tourist train overturned in Cártama, Spain, on Saturday evening. The accident occurred shortly after 9:30 PM local time during the town's annual Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel festival, an event encouraging visits to local businesses for food and drink.
Emergency services responded to the scene, attending to the injured. Four individuals, including three children, were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. Local authorities confirmed that none of the victims suffered serious injuries.
The cause of the train overturning, which happened as it was turning on Santo Cristo road, remains unknown. The free train service was carrying approximately 30 passengers at the time of the incident. The train service has been suspended for the remainder of the weekend while investigations are conducted.
