The Traitors: Uncloaked podcast has been recognized at the British Podcast Awards. Following its finale, an extended episode of the podcast drew 4.8 million listeners and was broadcast on BBC One and Sounds.
The podcast is slated to return on October 8, coinciding with the premiere of The Celebrity Traitors television series on BBC One.
Comedian Maisie Adam hosted this year's awards ceremony, held at Indigo at The O2. The prestigious Podcast Champion Award, given to a show that breaks new ground and grows communities, was awarded to Pod Save the UK, hosted by comedian Nish Kumar and journalist Coco Khan. Previous recipients include Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell's The Rest Is Politics.
Khan stated that the podcast is about "being different, unique, authentic and funny in these very unfunny times."
Michelin chef Angela Hartnett and broadcaster Nick Grimshaw were named Best Hosts for their culinary interview series Dish. Elis James and John Robins, a popular podcasting duo, secured the Best Comedy award.
The Listeners' Choice Award, the only prize determined solely by public vote, went to Betwixt the Sheets: The History of Sex, Scandal & Society, hosted by sex historian Kate Lister.
