The Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi reported a net profit of Rs 87.56 crore for the 2025-26 financial year, with passenger traffic reaching 27 lakh during the same period. This marks a significant increase from previous years, with profits rising from Rs 49.21 crore in FY 2023-24 to Rs 64.60 crore in FY 2024-25, and then to Rs 87.56 crore in FY 2025-26.
Passenger traffic also saw substantial growth, increasing from 6.5 lakh in 2014-15 to 27 lakh in 2025-26. Airport Director Vinod Kumar attributed this progress to the economic development of Jharkhand, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced revenue generation. He highlighted that completed development projects, including a new air traffic control tower and expanded passenger facilities, have bolstered the airport's capacity and safety.
