A raccoon caused a drunken rampage in a Virginia liquor store after breaking in early Saturday morning. The animal fell through a ceiling tile, smashed bottles of scotch and whisky, and consumed alcohol before passing out on the bathroom floor.
Samantha Martin, an animal control officer, responded to the scene and found the raccoon. She described the incident as "another day in the life of an animal control officer," noting the raccoon's "full-blown rampage, drinking everything."
The Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter confirmed that the raccoon was safely captured, recovered from its intoxication, and released back into the wild. The agency humorously noted the raccoon likely learned that "breaking and entering is not the answer."
