PwC US has announced a sponsorship deal with the Texas Super Kings, a team in Major League Cricket. The professional services firm will serve as the sleeve partner for the team, marking an expansion of PwC's involvement in sports sponsorships.
Rob Bladwin, representing PwC, described the partnership as an alignment with the firm's commitment to investing in the communities it serves and an opportunity to support a sport gaining traction in Texas. The Texas Super Kings are one of six teams in the US-based T20 franchise competition, which has significant Indian influence.
The team is owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, which also owns the Indian Premier League team of the same name. The Super Kings also benefit from investment by former Dallas Mavericks owner Ross Perot Jr and businessman Anurag Jain. Jain welcomed PwC, noting the shared commitment to performance and long-term growth, and expressed enthusiasm for elevating cricket's profile in North America.
PwC's broader sports affiliations include a consulting partnership with Formula 1 and a digital consulting role with the San Francisco 49ers. The deal comes as various non-US sports, including cricket and football, are increasing their presence and investment in the United States.
