Porsche CEO targets July for cost-cutting deal with employees

The sports car manufacturer has previously announced plans to eliminate 1,900 jobs in the coming years, following the dismissal of 2,000 temporary workers last year. Leiters indicated that Porsche intends to operate with lower production capacities than the approximately 280,000 cars sold in the previous year, stating the company must "make money with fewer cars."

Further plans include closer cooperation with its sister company, Audi. The entry-level 718 series is set to continue. Porsche experienced a further erosion of profit in the first quarter of 2026, grappling with challenges such as tariffs, geopolitical instability, and gaps in its model lineup.
