Perdue Farms has appointed Drew Getty as its new Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately. Getty, who has been with the company since 2012, will succeed Herb Frerichs, Perdue's first General Counsel, who is set to retire following a transition period.
Getty's appointment follows a two-year succession planning process. He will report directly to CEO Kevin McAdams and will be a member of the company's Management Committee. In his new role, Getty will lead Perdue's legal department and serve as a strategic advisor to McAdams and the Management Committee, overseeing legal and business risk management, governance, and compliance. Environmental and Sustainability functions will also continue under his direction.
Getty joined Perdue in 2012 and has progressed through various leadership positions in legal, compliance, sustainability, government relations, and enterprise leadership. His experience includes a key role in the company's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to joining Perdue, Getty worked at Miles & Stockbridge and the Appellate Court of Maryland, holding degrees from Dickinson College and the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Frerichs joined Perdue over 26 years ago and was instrumental in establishing and shaping the company's legal function. He has served as a trusted advisor through periods of significant growth and increasing regulatory complexity. Frerichs will remain with the company as Senior Vice President, Strategic Advisor to the CEO & General Counsel during the transition.
