Goodwin hires Kirkland & Ellis real estate partner for Philadelphia office

Goodwin Procter has recruited a real estate partner from Kirkland & Ellis to staff its burgeoning Philadelphia office. This move occurs within a highly active lateral recruitment market in Philadelphia, a city that has seen a notable influx of major law firms establishing or expanding their presence.

Kirkland & Ellis made its own Philadelphia debut in January 2025, hiring a five-partner mass tort team from Skadden, led by Allison Brown. This expansion followed similar strategic moves, such as Polsinelli's launch last summer with 35 lawyers, including 20 partners, who moved from Holland & Knight's local operations. These developments underscore a dynamic environment for legal talent acquisition in Philadelphia, with both established and emerging firms vying for key hires.
