Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has announced plans for a new £210 million stadium for his Greek football club, Olympiacos FC. The proposed Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus is set to have a 53,000 capacity and will be financed by Olympiacos and Marinakis personally.
The project aims to create the largest and most modern football stadium in Greece, featuring a 2,000-square-meter media center with a 320-seat auditorium, 1,000 square meters of media workspaces, and a bioclimatic roof. One side of the stadium will focus on a multi-level hospitality offering, similar to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Marinakis stated that the stadium will be a 'theatre of dreams' and open year-round. Separately, Marinakis is also spearheading a £130 million redevelopment of Nottingham Forest's current home, the City Ground, which could increase its capacity to 52,500.
