Aegean Airlines has relaunched its direct flight service between Paphos, Cyprus, and Athens, Greece, after an absence of several years. The first flight of the resumed service landed in Athens at 6:31 am local time on Friday. The route will be operated three times a week, significantly strengthening passengers' access to both Aegean Airlines' domestic and international network. This also facilitates connections with key tourism markets, including Germany and other Northern European countries. Representatives from Paphos' local bodies and Aegean executives had previously met in February to discuss promotional and cooperation initiatives aimed at boosting the airline's presence and promoting the new routes in the region. Local bodies have expressed satisfaction with the resumption of flights and anticipate further strengthening of Aegean's operations at Paphos International Airport.
