K2 Infragen Ltd announced it received a Letter of Acceptance worth Rs 158.58 crore from Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd for railway electrification infrastructure upgrades. The project aims to enhance traction capacity and is expected to be completed within 24 months.

K2 Infragen Ltd announced on Monday that it has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) valued at Rs 158.58 crore, inclusive of GST, from Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. The order pertains to the enhancement of railway electrification infrastructure across significant sections of the North Western Railway.
The scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning required to upgrade the electric traction system from its current 1 x 25 kV capacity to 2 x 25 kV. This upgrade is intended to bolster the railway's traction capacity to meet a 3,000 MT loading target.
The project will be implemented across the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi section within the Jodhpur Division and the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur section in the Jaipur Division. Collectively, these sections span 403 route kilometers and 497.65 track kilometers. K2 Infragen anticipates the project's completion within a 24-month timeframe.
Pankaj Sharma, Managing Director of K2 Infragen Ltd, commented that this award pushes the company's unexecuted order book, comprising direct orders from government bodies, past the Rs 500 crore mark within the last six months. He highlighted railway electrification and traction upgrades as crucial for India's transport infrastructure, aiming for greater efficiency and improved load capacity in the rail network.
