The broadcaster reported that IPL 2026 garnered 870 billion minutes of watch-time, representing a 7% increase compared to the previous year. The final match, which saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure their second consecutive title, was the most-watched single IPL match ever, reaching over 400 million viewers across various screens.
Connected TV emerged as the fastest-growing platform, with a 22% year-on-year growth in viewership. Digital video views saw an 8% rise, totaling 25 billion. Additionally, the share of regional language watch-time on digital platforms increased by 33%, attributed to higher engagement from affluent and younger demographics.
JioStar also noted a significant increase in commercial interest, with 125 new advertisers participating in IPL 2026 compared to the prior season. Twenty-two sponsors collaborated with JioHotstar, while 16 partnered with the Star Sports Network.
