HVR Solar Ltd is set to establish a significant 1.2 gigawatt (GW) TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line in Uttar Pradesh, India. The company announced the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for this venture, which were formalised during the SNEC PV Power Expo 2026 in Shanghai.
The facility, to be located in the Amroha district, aims to bolster India's domestic renewable energy supply chain and reduce dependence on imported solar components. Key partnerships have been secured with international and domestic technology providers. Shenzhen Han’s Photovoltaic Equipment Co. Ltd will supply manufacturing equipment, while Gentech Technology (Huzhou) Co. Ltd will provide chemical and gas utility systems. Indygreen Technologies Pvt Ltd has been appointed as the technology facilitator for the production line's integration and deployment.
This initiative aligns with India's 'Make in India' campaign and the growing global demand for high-efficiency solar technology. TOPCon technology is noted for its higher energy output and lower degradation rates. The project is also expected to generate over 500 direct employment opportunities in engineering, machine operations, and administration, contributing to local economic growth and workforce development.
