Tuberculosis remains a significant global health challenge. On June 16, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria announced plans to distribute a new molecular diagnostic test for TB. This pioneering near point-of-care test will be deployed in medical facilities across 13 countries, including Bangladesh, Benin, and Cameroon. The initiative aims to provide approximately 3 million rapid and highly accurate TB tests to populations and regions that have historically lacked access to such diagnostic services. The total value of this procurement is estimated at $13 million. The testing solution is being supplied by the Chinese biotechnology firm Pluslife Biotech Co. Ltd.
