Board directors will play a key role in steering the nonprofit's direction, driving programs that empower industry professionals, educate the future workforce, and build connections within the grain handling, storage, and processing sector. Key responsibilities include attending quarterly board meetings, providing guidance on strategic direction and financial health, and championing GEAPS within their respective companies and chapters.
To be considered, applicants must have a minimum of three years of GEAPS membership and have demonstrated engagement through attending two of the last five GEAPS Exchanges, serving in chapter leadership, or serving on a GEAPS committee. For the 2026 term, GEAPS needs to fill three Regular member positions and one Associate or Affiliate position. An additional Regular member seat is available due to a director's resignation. The Second Vice President position, held by an incumbent Associate or Affiliate member, also needs to be filled.
Applications are due by January 15, and all applicants will undergo a background check. The Nominations Committee will review applications to prepare a slate of candidates for the spring 2026 election. Elected candidates will commence their terms on July 1, 2026, and will be invited to a board meeting and orientation training.
