Buc-ee's, a popular Texas-based convenience store chain known for its large travel plazas, clean restrooms, and unique merchandise like Beaver Nuggets, is significantly expanding its national presence. What began as a Texas-centric business has grown to over 60 locations across 12 states, with plans to enter at least six new states by the end of 2027.
The company is set to open its westernmost location in Goodyear, Arizona, on June 22, 2026. This will mark Buc-ee's entry into its 13th state. Following closely, Arkansas will welcome its first Buc-ee's in Benton on August 17, 2026. Another Texas location in San Marcos is scheduled for August 12, 2026, and a store in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is expected in the fall of 2026.
Looking ahead to 2027, Buc-ee's has eight new locations on track for Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kansas, and North Carolina, among others. A further expansion is planned for West Memphis, Arkansas, in 2028. The company is also working on future travel centers in Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Nebraska and Ohio are also slated to potentially receive their first Buc-ee's stores, with approvals already in place for locations in Stafford County, Virginia, and Springville, Utah.
Buc-ee's has experienced rapid growth since 2021, more than doubling its store count. The construction of each travel center typically takes between 18 to 24 months from groundbreaking to opening.
