Bank of America announced on Wednesday its plan to deploy $250 billion through July 2027 to support U.S. digital and infrastructure projects. The initiative, named the "Critical Infrastructure Finance Initiative," aims to stimulate economic growth and create tens of thousands of jobs.
The program will encompass primary market lending, investments, capital markets services, and banking and advisory offerings. This move highlights how major U.S. financial institutions are capitalizing on the domestic boom in areas such as AI data centers, critical mineral mining, and energy infrastructure modernization.
Bank of America's financial activities will be categorized into three main areas: digital infrastructure, including data centers and computing; energy and power infrastructure, covering renewable power generation and energy storage; and core infrastructure, such as transportation and natural gas.
Karen Fang, co-head of global capital solutions at Bank of America, stated that meeting America's infrastructure needs requires mobilizing capital at scale across interconnected sectors and delivering integrated financing solutions.
This announcement follows a similar commitment from Morgan Stanley, which recently stated it would facilitate approximately $1.5 trillion over the next decade for technology and infrastructure projects. The specified period for Bank of America's eligible activity is an 18-month window from January 1, 2026, to July 4, 2027.
