Actor Anthony Head, known for 'Ted Lasso' and 'Buffy,' dies at 72

Anthony Head, the suave, smooth-voiced British actor recognized for his iconic roles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' as Rupert Giles and in 'Ted Lasso' as the owner of AFC Richmond, has died at the age of 72. His family announced his passing on Friday, stating that his death resulted from complications related to pneumonia. Head was a long-standing figure in television and film, also known for his work in 'Merlin' and 'Little Britain.' He shared a 40-year relationship with his partner, Sarah Fisher, an animal welfare advocate and author, and together they had two daughters, Emily and Daisy, both of whom are also actors. Castmates have begun to share tributes, with Brett Goldstein, who starred alongside Head in 'Ted Lasso,' describing him as 'a brilliant actor who played the worst person in the world.' Alyson Hannigan, who starred with Head in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' also shared an emotional tribute, stating she would miss him forever.
