Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced that the railway connectivity project from Jiribam to Imphal via Tupul is targeted for completion by 2028. He attributed the state's progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports, connectivity, and social welfare to the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 12 years.
Singh highlighted several key developments under Modi's leadership, including the establishment of the National Sports University in Manipur, the implementation of the Inner Line Permit system on December 9, 2019, and the commissioning of the naval destroyer INS Imphal. He also noted the establishment of a medical college in Churachandpur and the upcoming completion of the new integrated terminal at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
During the press briefing, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho mentioned India's achievement in reducing emissions intensity ahead of schedule. Minister (Home) Govindas Konthoujam reported on the ongoing border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border, and Minister (Tourism) Khuraijam Loken Singh noted the renaming of Mount Harriet to Mount Manipur in honor of Manipuri freedom fighters.
