Adani, Jabil to build AI data centre manufacturing platform in India

Adani Group and Jabil Inc. are forming an alliance to establish a vertically integrated manufacturing platform for AI and data centre infrastructure within India. This strategic venture is designed to capitalize on the escalating global demand for AI computing power. The collaboration seeks to create a comprehensive ecosystem for AI hardware production in India.

In parallel, Schneider Electric and Foxconn are entering into a collaboration focused on developing and scaling infrastructure specifically for next-generation AI data centers. Their objective is to enhance both the speed and efficiency of AI operations for their clientele. Production under this partnership is anticipated to commence later this year, signaling a rapid move towards implementation.

India, as a nation, is actively developing a comprehensive strategy to bolster its domestic AI infrastructure and cultivate a skilled workforce. This national initiative aims to foster greater independence in the development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. NITI Aayog, India's policy think tank, has been assigned the responsibility of identifying critical gaps within the existing AI ecosystem and formulating recommendations. These measures may include an expansion of the current India AI Mission, underscoring the government's commitment to advancing AI capabilities.

Further contributing to the AI infrastructure build-out, JX Advanced Metals is planning a significant expansion of its production capacity for optical chip wafers. The company intends to increase this capacity by up to tenfold. This expansion is driven by the burgeoning demand for equipment that can specifically reduce the power consumption of AI data centers, addressing a key operational challenge in the sector.
