Video and podcast recording platform Riverside is expanding into newsletter publishing by offering users an AI-powered tool to convert their existing audio and video content into written newsletters. This feature aims to streamline content creation by allowing users to leverage their already produced spoken material rather than starting from a blank page.
Riverside's founder and CEO, Nadav Keyson, stated that for many creators, speaking is more natural than writing, and the ideas are already present in their conversations. The new tool helps them transform recordings into newsletter-ready content with significantly less effort.
In addition to the newsletter feature, Riverside is enhancing its recording suite with support for multi-camera setups and the ability to add remote guests. The update also includes new AI functionalities, such as drafting initial versions of recordings, generating hooks and content for social media platforms, and an AI video enhancement feature designed to improve lighting, depth, and sharpness.
Riverside, which has secured over $60 million in funding, is entering a landscape where other platforms are also diversifying their offerings. For example, Substack has introduced a recording studio, and Beehiiv has ventured into podcasting, indicating a trend of content platforms expanding into alternative publishing avenues.
