OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is set to visit Samsung Electronics in South Korea next week to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence into the tech giant's operations. The meeting, scheduled to take place at Samsung's office in Suwon, will also feature Altman delivering a lecture on the impact of AI technologies and strategies for AI-driven innovation.
This visit comes as Samsung Electronics is actively pursuing a comprehensive overhaul of its work processes and corporate culture through the full incorporation of AI. It marks Altman's first trip to South Korea in approximately eight months, with his previous visit in October last year resulting in letters of intent for cooperation on global AI infrastructure development between OpenAI, Samsung, and SK Group.
Earlier reports indicated that Altman expects OpenAI to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) within the next year.
