Netflix docuseries examines Rachel Nickell murder case

Netflix is releasing a three-part drama titled 'The Witness,' which delves into the 1992 murder of Rachel Nickell. The case, which occurred in broad daylight in front of her young son, had a profound impact on the nation. The series aims to present the truth behind the events, incorporating contributions from Nickell's son, Alex, and her partner, André. Rob Williams served as the writer and director for the drama. A documentary, 'The Murder of Rachel Nickell,' will also premiere on Netflix, utilizing archival footage and interviews with forensic experts. Prime Video is also releasing a two-part docuseries on the case, 'The Wimbledon Killer'. The original murder investigation was marred by errors, including the wrongful charge of Colin Stagg, who was later compensated. Advanced DNA techniques eventually led to the conviction of Robert Napper in 2008. The drama also goes back and forth between 1992 and 2002, when the cold case was reopened.
