Google is reportedly experimenting with a new floating search interface for its Chrome browser, which could allow users to search the web without fully opening the browser. This feature, spotted in the experimental Chrome Canary build, can reportedly be activated using the Ctrl + Shift + Space keyboard shortcut on Windows. The interface is designed to be summoned from anywhere on the desktop and includes Google's AI Mode, support for uploading files and images, and the capability to generate AI images directly from the same window. Currently, this is an early prototype, and there is no guarantee it will be included in the stable version of Chrome.
