Jun Seki, the executive overseeing electric vehicle strategy at Taiwan's Foxconn, has indicated that advanced autonomous driving technology is poised for widespread adoption sooner than previously anticipated. Speaking on July 21 in Tokyo, Seki projected that Level 4 and higher autonomous driving capabilities will become mainstream by the year 2040, driven by declining costs and improvements in system reliability.
Foxconn, officially Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., is actively engaged in the EV sector, showcasing its capabilities at events like its annual Hon Hai Tech Day (HHTD23). The company has unveiled a new electric cargo van, the MODEL N, and provided updates on its family SUV, the MODEL C, and sporty crossover, the MODEL B, with plans for mass production.
