The West Bengal government has officially distributed portfolios among the ministers who were recently sworn into the state cabinet. Swapan Dasgupta has been assigned the crucial Finance Department, while Tapas Roy will lead the Industries Department. Sharadwat Mukherjee has been appointed as the Health Minister.
Further allocations include Shankar Ghosh, who will oversee Tourism and Parliamentary Affairs, and Arjun Singh, who has been entrusted with the Labour and Transport ministries. Minister of State (Independent Charge) Indranil Khan will manage the Sports and Consumer Affairs departments, and Malati Rava Roy will be in charge of Women and Child Development.
Other key appointments include Dudh Kumar Mondal for Agriculture, Jagannath Chattopadhyay for Higher Education, and Dipak Barman for School Education. Dilip Ghosh has been assigned Rural Development and Animal Resources Development, while Agnimitra Paul will handle Women and Child Welfare.
This portfolio distribution follows the induction of 35 MLAs as ministers on June 1, expanding the council of ministers to a total strength of 41. This marks the first BJP-led government in West Bengal, following their victory over the Trinamool Congress in the state assembly elections.
