Vance: Trump is Israel's sole ally; criticizes Israeli officials on Iran deal

Vance stated that any Israeli government cabinet members attacking the deal and Trump personally should reconsider their position. He emphasized that Trump is the only head of state sympathetic to Israel at this time and reminded them that a significant portion of their defensive weaponry is funded by American taxpayers, referencing the approximately $4 billion in annual U.S. military assistance. He suggested that those in Israel viewing Trump as their primary problem need to confront the reality of their country's situation.

Vance amplified earlier comments made to The New York Times, where he described Israel's reaction to the agreement as a "weird panic" and "freakout," attributing it to mistrust. Israeli officials, including some allies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have criticized the agreement, arguing it fails to address Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs and could impede Israel's operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Trump himself had previously advised Netanyahu to adopt a "softer touch" in the conflict with Hezbollah militants.

Separately, Vice President Vance stated that talks with Iran would commence, asserting that the U.S. had already achieved victory regardless of Iran's adherence to commitments or the finalization of a deal.
