Authorities in Kentucky have charged an 18-year-old man with murder and multiple counts of assault following a mass shooting at Charles Young Park in Lexington. The incident, which occurred during a community celebration on Saturday evening, resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy, Di’Zhon Robertson, and injuries to four others. Jametrius Griffin was arrested less than 24 hours after the shooting.
The Lexington police department reported responding to gunfire at approximately 7 p.m. and finding five individuals shot. The victims included two adults, a 14-year-old, and a four-year-old, in addition to the deceased teenager. Griffin faces charges of murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and tampering with physical evidence.
