The matter came to light after the publication of the panchayat voter list on June 10, which did not include her name. Amethi District Magistrate Sanjay Chauhan has ordered an inquiry to determine the cause of the omission. BJP Amethi district president Sudhanshu Shukla confirmed that an application for Irani's inclusion in the voter list had been submitted and that senior officials were made aware of the issue. Shukla also stated that officials have assured the name would be added following due verification.
